Scratches on car

Hi,
Today when I went to collect my car I found some kind soul had scratched a line right across the bonnet and a couple of lines right down the side. It looks as if the marks have been made with a key.I have read somewhere about a wax stick from Halfords, would this be any good, or can any one help with any suggestions. Years ago I used T-cut but I don't know if this istill about. The car is black and I would be grateful for any help. Thanks.

If you can feel the scratches with your nail, then they won't polish out, colour sticks and colour magic are pretty pointless on modern clearcoated paint work, do you have pics of the offending marks?

What DUTR said, if they are deep the you can get a mobile painter to touch up... Trimline or Chips-Away...

If it was me i'd leave it and get the whole car sorted by one of the mobile firms before I sold it if it's worth the money...

Yeah, so long as it's not through to the metal (which would make it rust) and it may happen again not much point fixing it. The ultimate fix to this problem is decapitation of the jealous ch@v scum who do it to your car. Unfortunately it's legal for them to scratch your car, but as soon as you even swing your fist at them, even if you don't hit them and they get scared, then you've just committed the most heinous criminal offence and will at least be kept in a cell overnight.

Yep. They're definitely the real victims, according to the (in)justice system!!!

I understand the suggestion to get the car ready for sale at some point in the future, but only the OP knows they feel about their car's appearance.
Bit like people who live with deterioration of their home and then do it up to sell it....life is for living it's not all down to counting cost.

I enjoy keeping my car well maintained and preserved, so i'd have to get the paint repaired probably by a smart repairer.
I suspect the OP wants their car nice too, many here probably wouldn't have noticed.

Oh and by the way..decapitaion is far too good for the scum that do this, sentence them to a hard days work..that'll cure 'em.

The wax sticks from Halfords are a complete waste of time and money. Even Stevie Wonder would still be able to see the damage.
