First Credit Card

in Credit cards
Im thinking of applying for my first credit card, and was hoping people might have some tips as to which ones might accept me? as i don't want to make too many applications. Heard Tescos sometimes accepts first timers, anyone else know any? High interest rate doesnt really matter as plan to pay in full each month
Im a student and work part time in Halifax and have about £9000 in savings and a current account with Halifax, but have only recently switched my accounts from another bank. Does the fact i have savings make application success more likely?
Any advice would be great, Thanx

Hi Casper, welcome to the site
It depend what you want your credit card for really. If you have no debt and savings like you imply then maybe you should be looking for a credit card that you can get cash back on or one with 0% on purchases (in order to stooze)

Strangely enough the fact that you have savings could actually be against you as record of having debt and paying it off successfully seems to be more important
Hope that helps0
