Get a cheap satnav then almost gauranteed to work. Driving a car and looking at a laptop is not a good idea using a mouse pointing and clicking. A satnav will go in your pocket , the lappy won't. £3 / Meg is well expensive, and you will lose any control over your costs, poor signals strengh even on the wrong tarrif or mobile company... get a sat nav, eh.
