Llyods bank charges help required please!!

I'm wondering if any of the very clever people out there can help me. I found out last august that my OH was in quite a bit of trouble with his bank account. He works away from home, 6 days a week and in the majority gets paid cash, and had not been bothering to put it in the bank resulting in lots of charges (£700 in 5 months) he just buried his head and i only found when i opened a letter labelled urgent when he was away. After reading lots on this site we decided to get him back on track and try and reclaim, at least some, of the money. We requested historical list of charges and it was over £3,500 . This alone caused lots of arguments lol.. we copied the letter from here requesting a refund (thanks martin!) and received the standard no chance while the case is ongoing etc, etc.
Just before xmas my OH was made redundant so after reading a few successes on here decided to go down the financial hardship route, and wrote again, this time they didnt even reply, so in March i sent the same letter but with a complaint that they didnt even reply last time. Last week we received a reply saying the same again that they wouldnt deal with it while the court hearing was ongoing and that "the guidelines from the FSA state we must assist customers in financial difficulties, but this does not mean that we will automatically refund bank charges" they go on to say that all they can do is offer assistance from their 'collections team', they did indeed contact my OH and advised that they would continue charging until his OD is repaid, and that he could do repay at any branch with a cash deposit, credit card transfer, or taking out a bank loan!! unbelievable when we've said in every phone call and letter he's unemployed!

Sorry its a bit of a rant but any advice would be much appreciated.

I think you need to hit them with the fact that you have priority debt arrears ie mortgage/rent, council tax, utilities. Explain the change of circumstances, ie redundancy. They should send out an income and expenditure form, however, if they don't then here is a common financial statement you can send plus send them notice of arrears.

As an aside, greyhound is having a bad day and has had a claim for hardship refused so please bear with him and hopefully we can get them through the process as well. Unfortunately LloydsTSB advocating using a credit card is quite outrageous.
