Hello
I applied through joseph rowntree at first and then they lost my application and then applied through my4walls. After 8 weeks wait I send email to places for people and their responce was That they dont accept applications from other housing assosiations. The information those associations given me was incorrect and they dont know why they given me wrong information. They want me to call them to go on waiting list. Look like I have been waiting for 14 weeks for something I havent even applied. Is that true. Is anybody else applied through housing associations. I dont know why on their web site that you can apply through them to places of people fo own home scheme. Is somebody lying to me. There is thge link how I apply to them. Does it look like dodgy to you.

Ownhome? Govt scheme? The tax payer has run out of money.
rent or buy. doing both at the same time should be certifiable/0 -
Ownhome is not a shared ownership. You own the house %100 and get a loan from places for people free interest for 5 years and then pay it back what you borowed. So no rent to pay.poppysarah wrote: »Ownhome? Govt scheme? The tax payer has run out of money.

Two different schemes:
Ownhome - you apply direct to them (telephone interview/application). As far as I know still has funding but there is a long telephone waiting list (this is the places for people one)
MyChoice HomeBuy - this is by application through a housing association and appears to have run out of funding. This is the scheme that my4walls are involved in.
I think you might have got the two schemes confused?
Hope this helps.LBM:1/1/12Debts @ LBM:£43,546  Debts now: £9,486  78% PAIDFound YNAB 1/2/14 - the best thing EVER!0 -
I just accepted on a shared ownership scheme...
i rejected it on the basis, flats are now even cheaper on open market... prices have fell, and are falling still.
Im going to buy outright at the right time... and for now continue to waste money renting, but during these times its a good option! and makes for flexibility!Plan

Thanks for your reply. I see what you mean. Then I dont understand why my4walls have on their web site the application for ownhome and they send me a letter saying we were accepted for ownhome. They should remove the applicaton on their web site. I called places for people and applied now anyway. They say there is 10 weeks waiting list.tintingirl wrote: »Two different schemes:

I can't see anywhere on their website where it mentions OwnHome, only mychoice homebuy (they state this is now closed as no funds) and Homebuy direct which is a 3rd scheme for newbuilds only.LBM:1/1/12Debts @ LBM:£43,546  Debts now: £9,486  78% PAIDFound YNAB 1/2/14 - the best thing EVER!0 -
When we applied to Moat for MCHB they included details about OwnHome however upon reading all the information they sent us, it was clear that it was a separate scheme which you could apply for as well, which we did by phoning the number, waiting for a letter and then scheduling an appointment.
It sounds like you did not read your literature fully. If you are thinking of buying a house this is definitely something you will need to improve upon!0 -

Hello everyone,
It is the first time iam actually posting to this forum but i have been following this forum since i joined the ownhome shceme.
I have currently put an offer on property which got axcepted. The mortgage went through fine and i got the survey done on the property, currently waiting for an offer from the ownhome people. My co op mortgatge adviser told me that they need to inform ownhome and they will send an official offer.
Till now the experience had been great and everything is going smoothly. I have been reading that some people had to wait for long to get the first interview but for me it was just a day. I called on friday and they gave me time on Monday. I even didnt had to waite for any letter.
So does anyone know how long does it take til you get the official offer from ownhome people?Hello

If the interest rates goes up we cant afford it anymore. We are hoping to get 10 years fixed mortgage with the rate 4.9%.0
