Night-time phlem - Baby won't sleep. Any ideas?

it's not always a reaction to cows milk, sometimes babies just get colds. mine was intolerant to cows milk (and i didn't realise it, the health visitor told me i was being silly when i mentioned it as a possibility) but only got the usual amount of colds per year and wasn't mucus-y in between the colds. cows milk does promote the build up of mucus though so in older children perhaps it could be limited during times of colds and snot.
i found that raising the top end of the cot slightly worked well, i also used snufflebabe. i use eucalyptus oil in burners too, or put olbas oil into the burner and into the bath. i don't think you can use those with tiny babies though. i recently bought a karvol plug and it's suitable for babies of 3 months plus, you have to put pads into it and it heats them up to release vapours, they are a bit expensive though.
i think that for a tiny baby when most products aren't suitable letting them sleep in the rocker/pram/car seat is the best option as it lets them sleep in a raised position. having just had an awful sinus infection myself i can confirm that being raised up makes a massive difference to breathing, although swallowing all that rubbish tends to make you vomit. still, what's a bit of vomit if you get a good night's sleep lol!52% tight0 -

i use olbas oil on a bib an tie it to the cot, also i currently have raised the top end of the cot mattress with pillows as i dont have enough books to raise the cot evenly lol. again repeating what bunny said snuffle babe is good also johnsons do a vapour rub too which i actually got in the 99p shop
hope ur little one is well soon
