Ive read the huge sticky above, and Im finding conflicting information about whether Disney Theme Park Tickets are included when you book a Disney Resort Hotel.

Does it depend on which hotel?
Does it depend on who you book with? eg Thomas Cook told me it was included (All-Stars) but a website said it wasnt included.

Any info much appreciated.

The rules keep changing, at present the park tickets are not included when you book a disney hotel room. As you can stay in a disney hotel and never go into the parks. The best ticket to buy is the ultimate ticket which lasts the whole time of your stay and is incorporated onto your room key.

I met an american there and he said he bought a season pass for the parks and it gave him half price hotel rates, he only bough the one for himself and the whole family got the benefit. I have never checked this out but presume he was telling the truth.

Disney in the US never automatically include passes as part of the room rates. However, they do offer packages and many tour operators also do packages. (if you want top use the Disney dining plan where there are some meals included you have to be on a package).

One of the best tickets for a UK visitor, if you are only going to go once is the ultimate ticket which is between £158 - £178 (for 14 days entrance , they do a 21 day one) depending on where you buy it from. That is often the best value as it includes all parks and you can move between parks.

If you buy a annual pass sometimes disney does do special offers for pass holders, but I have never seen them at 50% off. They are current between about $25 and night off for the value resorts, $40 a night off of the moderates and $10 a night off of the deluxe. These can only be booked at fairly short notice, they release special codes and news on a special web site about three months in advance only. However you can book a room at rack rate and if a code comes out cal and see if it can be applied, as they will only have set levels of rooms at the special rates. This has to be booked with the US call centre or though the US web site, or with a specialist travel agent that understands about the discounts, and there are not a lot of them. If you use an annual pass rate you cannot have a package. If you do book through the US they can only cope with bookings of up to 10 days, so for 14 days you would effectively have 2 bookings.

However, if you are a member of the AA you can get between 10% and 20% (dependant on the hotel and the season) off of the rack rate by asking for the AAA and that is available a lot further in advance. Again, the US call centre is the best way to book this.

If you are going to stay at Universal, they also offer good AAA discounts.
