Requested Charge Info 5 days ago and...

Hey guys, I sent a request and £10 cheque to Barclays 5 days ago for charge information on a closed graduate account, planning to reclaim a lot of charges back from my student days under the hardship rule which currently applies to me.
Today I've checked my current account (graduate, also with Barclays, had to close the other one and open a new one due to some fraud issues) and the £10 cheque has been cashed, but I have been refunded 7 x £8 charges on this account, total £56! These are from April/May this year and I just accepted them as I messed up my money a bit and had a few problems with direct debits, I can't believe they've just refunded them without even asking!! I didn't think these could be refunded as they're only £8, under the £12 rule.
Also...just checked my statements and despite having letters advising of these charges, they never even came out of my bank in the first place! Do you think I'll be keeping this money? Or is it likely to be coming out again sometime? The letter said charges would apple 16 days after my next statement date, but it's definitely been more than that now.
Could this be a ploy to try and stop be going ahead with claiming on my other account?
