  • 16 ounces to the pound. So 4 ounces is a quarter, 8 ounces is a half.

    4oz is a quarter pounder.

    4oz = ¼ pound
    8oz = ½ pound
    16oz = 1 pound

    As everyone says 4oz is 1/4 pound but what has that got to do with conversion or did you want it in gramms in which case its about 114gramms but recipies 100g is usually taken as 4oz

    Also, I always always use Google to convert - as long as you get the question just right, Google automatically calculates the response for you (ie - NOT a web page result but the equation).

    I frequently use it, converting inches to centimetres etc - it's brilliant.

    For example, just type 4 oz in lb

    Thanks Maggie111 - I didn't know Google did that, and I have trouble remembering the conversions metric to imperial & vice-versa!

    I'm of the generation that had to learn both imperial and metric, and LSD and Decimal money!
    I still convert things, even now! LOL!
