Restricted Hour Tariff (RHT) Meter

Hello there! I have been with E-on for three years, and have just discovered that they have been charging me their standard rate for two meters, when one of them is an RHT meter on a reduced rate. I'm not very happy with their customer service, but can't find anyone else online who can offer a service plan that accommodates my RHT meter. I'm in Norfolk (East Anglia Region)... does anyone know of any suppliers I can contact?

Many thanks - shy_kat

    Hi shy_kat

You certainly shouldn't have been charged off peak usage at standard rates. Really sorry if this has happened.

RHT meters provide electricity at a cheaper rate at certain times during every 24 hours for things like storage heating or under floor heating.

Customers on these systems have two single rate meters using a timeswitch to switch between the two.

One meter records normal usage whilst the second is for off peak usage for storage heaters, water heating etc.

These meters should be set up on a specific tariff with lower rates for usage recorded on the RHT meter.

If all your usage is being charged at standard rates give us a call. Ask to go on to the RHT tariff. Also ask for this to be back dated to when the RHT meters were installed.

    Hope this helps.

    Malc :)
