in Credit cards
hi guys, just seen a 10k loan pre approved offer in my internet banking session. does this mean its guaranteed based on my behavioural score or is still subject to a clean credit check.
i have no adverse but certainly a lot of credit searches in the last 2 months(5 to be precise)--- yeah i know shouldnt hav done that but its happened- good thing is all those 5 acounts are now open although not showing on my credit file.
if any of u guys have this pre approved loan offer, do u think i am likely to get this one. i could use it to reduce some of my card balances
any advice appreciated as always.

I think you will find the loan is guaranteed, but don't be surprised if Barclays insist on closing down your Barclaycard account if you decide to take the full £10k0 -
Have you managed to resist temptation?0

why would they close the credit card down? thats bonkers surely? double interest is better than single interest! Or will they deduct the balance from the loan before paying it? to reduce their risk or whatever?

My partner had £13000.00 pre approved a couple of months ago, Barclays wanted her to consolidate all her debts into one.
Barclays made it very clear that they would close her Barclaycard if she went ahead with the consolidation.
The funny thing is that my partners Barclaycard APR is 0% for another 8 months lol.
Pre appoved money maker for Barclays lol;)
On this occasion she decided to decline there charitable offer.0 -
We've used their pre-approved deals on quite a few occasions, I've banked with them 10+ years. As I understand, they don't require a credit check, and you can have the money in your account within hours.
One word of warning though - while they were frequently change and alter these deals they are not a given, and can be removed without notice - i presume as Barclays begin to run dry of money available to lend. The other point is that be aware they occasionally offer 'promotional rates' and at other times they are regular. My partner was recently offered £25k at 18.9%, when we already have a loan of £9k with them at 5.9%!!!
Good luck!0 -
