Hi all,
With the closure of the Jubilee line on Saturday and the fact that i need to catch the midnight train from Kings Cross back to Cambridge, i think my only guaranteed option will be a taxi.
Does anyone have an idea on how much it would cost from the station to the o2 arena and back again and also an idea of journey time?
Thanks
Shaun

Can't help with taxis but have you considered the Thames clipper serrvice ?0

Try this website for an approximate price www.worldtaximeter.com0

Like poohsticks says the clipper is a good option- from Kings cross, you can get the Northern line to London Bridge and from the nearby pier get the clipper to the 02. Same journey back. Check www.tfl.gov.uk journey planner for times and other public transport routes. The journey by taxi would take about 40 minutes depending on traffic.0

Hi,
Thanks for the info so far and i have thought about the clipper service but am wary because of the need to be at kings cross before midnight. This is after attending the Britney Spears concert and don't know when it finishes. The cost for the clipper service would be £60.00 in total and then i need underground tickets to get there so was seeing how that compared with a taxi for 5 people. Is there an alternative suggestion? Would it be possible to tube in on another line close by and walk it?
Thanks, Shaun0 -

The only line that leaves the O2 is the Jubilee line. The DLR goes from the other side of the river at Canary Wharf, but as there are no footbridges in the area (ridiculous I know!) I'm not sure you could walk it as it would take a long time to walk through the Greenwich tunnel (or whatever it's called) & may end up paying for a taxi to CW which would defeat the object I guess!
If you can get across the river you would take the DLR from Canary Wharf to Bank, then the Northern Line to King's Cross.
The Thames Clipper or a taxi are your best bet.
Good luck & enjoy the concert

EDIT: Not exactly sure on how much a taxi would be, but I'd guess that the Clipper would be cheaper than a taxi.
Don't forget, not only do you have to get back form the arena you also have to get there as well and I'm sure that a black cab wouldn't be able to do that return journey for £60.0 -
To save money you could go to the 02 via buses or train if you have left plenty of time to get to the o2 from Kings cross and come back via the clipper and tube from London Bridge. You would need to get the Clipper at 10.12pm, get on the tube at London Bridge and should arrive in Kings cross for 11.22. The Clipper is a nice journey at night, if the weather is good. If you go to http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/user/XSLT_TRIP_REQUEST2?language=en and put in your date and time of arrival at Kings cross (select station) and journey to greenwich 02 (select place of interest) there are various options eg. get northern line to London bridge, take Br train to charlton station, then bus 486. I would ring up the 02 and ask how long the concert is expected to last, so you can then use the journey planner to work out the best way to get back to Kings cross.0

Another consideration is going to be how easy it will be to actually find a taxi at the O2 at the end of the concert ? (sorry, can't answer it but perhaps someone else can....)0

Hi All,
Thanks for the suggestions/recommendations for the Thames Clipper, plumped for the o2 express service which was enjoyable and they have a bar as well ;o) all in all got to Kings X with 10mins to spare.
Easy peasy,
Thanks again
