Need something to stop door slamming

Hi, we are getting a couple of panes of glass put into an internal door shortly to let more light into our hall. My worry is that this door is one that is often slammed, and I'm concerned that the glass panes will break unless we do something to prevent this. I thought of either a soft close mechanism, or something soft within the door frame itself to cushion the (inevitable) blow.
Would be grateful for any ideas. We're not DIYers, so it would either need to be easy to fix, or we'd have to get someone in to help.
Thanks in advance xx

I've used a self adhesive draft excluder in the past that was formed of a hollow tube of rubber that may give some limited air cushion like effect - it certainly cut down a bit on the noise if the door in question was slammed gently but slamming wasn't really a consideration for us, just drafts.
The door in question was a non-safety glass one with a wooden frame round the outside and the rest of the door all glass. It never broke, but then again nobody really slammed the door that hard. We've since replaced it as our little one is getting rather mobile and it was a recipe for disaster.
Might be worth a try, but bear in mind it may make the door harder to latch closed - we ended up having to lean on it quite hard as there wasn't much space between frame and door.5 year BOE + 2.49% capped tracker (cap 5.99%)

You could try fitting a "perko" door closure, there are a few closures on the market , try going to www.ironmongerydirect.com
Lastly, make sure the glass your having fitted is toughend if it is below 1.5 metres from the ground. With toughend glass fitted you shouldn,t have any trouble with the glass breaking.0 -
Practice not slamming the door?No free lunch, and no free laptop0

The glass should be toughened glass - is it?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Practice not slamming the door?
Thanks for your ideas. I should perhaps have clarified that it isn't us that slam the door. It slams when the front and back doors are open together as it sits midway between them and there is sometimes a strong through draft.
I should also have mentioned that it is a victorian house and we would want something in keeping. A lot of the stuff on the market looks quite industrial.0 -

I too get a draft when I have two outside doors open. I wedge my internal doors open either with a rubber wedge or my fabric door stop. An idea for starters.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

I have the same set up here and the way I get around it is to use a small wooden wedge (like a slice of cheese type wedge) and slide it in on it's side (opposit to if you were going to wedge open the door from under the actual door....hope this makes sense to you) with the thin end in between the door and it's frame at the bottom near the lower hinge until it stops.
The door still starts to close when both front and back doors are open at the same time, but never quite reaches as the wedge prevents it. Come bed time I just take out the wedge and shut the door, replacing it in the morning. Hope this helps. SG0
