*praise* Ryanair

Just thought id say thanks to the nice guy at stanstead airport on Monday.

Me , the Mrs and my 19 mnth daughter moved to Sweden with all our bare neccessities and we had loads of luggage and were well over the weight limit * which we expected*

We were going to have to fork out 600 quid almost if we wanted to keep all our stuff , so we went back to the side and decided we would just chuck a case away as there was just too much...

The guy at check in must have been looking at us and came over and just said "come back over here and well take another look"

He put all our cases down the conveyor belt without a word and smiled.

We were having a hard enuff time as it is getting from Wales to Stanstead with baby and luggage....

Thanks a lot , and yes im shocked im praising Ryanair!!!!

Wow, I'm so shocked!! That was really nice of the guy.

You'd never get that at Newcastle airport!

    That's great :)

The best way of thanking him is to take the time out to write to Ryanair and commend him to them. Don't tell them exactly what he did, as they might not totally approve of it, but tell them he helped you out when you were stressed with a young family. If you can't remember his name, just say what flight you were on and a brief description of him and I imagine they will work it out. The airlines take customer satisfaction ( and dissatisfaction) seriously, so it will give him serious kudos.

This is coming from someone who worked for an airline and had a habit of subtley breaking the rules for nice families!

Somewhere on this board I remember reading about someone praising a supermarket member of staff and they wrote to the store. The manager of the store gave the employee a paid day off!! Always makes me sure I'll write and praise good customer service.
    I love surprises!

Good idea , the best thing was he said he could lower it to 375 quid at first but i said theres now way i could afford it and i would bring my bags back after i had cut the weight down , i didnt moan or beg or be a complete a$$hole like the guy in front of me i just said ok thanks for trying to help i appreciate it.

Then he actually came over to us and put his desk on hold and told us to "come this way"

We were already having a crap time because we had a scare when the bank machine the earlier day ate my mrs Swedish visa card , the silly booger had kept an old card and i thought it was her current one and tried to take out money on it!!!

She lit up a fag straight away and we were panicking as my account was empty and we were relying on her money :D Luckily we found out i had her other card as well !!

So were now in Sweden having a great time building a new life away from our old chav like neighbourhood :D

    Hooray

Isn't "praise Ryanair" an oxymoron or is it just me being grumpy in my old age

    Good news indeed.

But the check in agent will be personally hunted down by O'Leary and forced to serve teas and coffees on the worst route for failing to moneygrab revenue. :D

I would send a letter, but don't tell him he let you off!

They would make him pay the £600!

Or maybe not. But I would of got loads of chocs and gave him them, not much but he would of been chuffed!

:Tas were a family of 7 we fly cheapest wherever possible usually ryan air or easyjet i'd even sit in the hold if i could fly cheaper LOL, i love them, the staff have always been very nice and polite and helpfull i have NEVER been delayed not once and we sometimes fly twice a year and my husband a lot more following his footy teams.
so i'm a big fan of buget airlines. Maybe some of the bigger airlines should take note.

not paying a quid to pee tho;)
