IKEA Store card promotion

Birmingham IKEA have a promotion on for store cards. Take out a store card and spend £50 that day and you get a £5 voucher off your next purchase.

AND for all future purchases on the card, spend £150 and get £15 back.

Also you get free tea and coffee for life by showing the card at the restaurant.

Sod's law, I bought a mirror for £50+ ... the week before

Take the mirror back and get a credited refund to your account,or just say your not happy with the mirror wrong shape or colour etc.
The get the new card and purchase the same mirror again thus recieveing the card benefits.
    The coffees free anyway.

There is also a clause at the store i think there is a charge for using your credit card if I remember correctly,so it may be worth having a closer look at their store card which is of course the whole point of the charge in the first place.
    MMMmmm hotdogs..

Only problem I think is that Ikea operate their own storecard so there is no Section 75 protection if something goes wrong with them or one of their products.

I think I might get one for the deal, but would still use a credit card and pay the fee for a major purchase. 75p seems a small price to pay for insuring the item if anything goes wrong in the future.

I can never resist the lure of the hotdog after the relief of surviving the checkout chaos, yet every time I find the experience tinged with a feeling of disappointment.

Hi, just wondering when this promotion ends.

I have just made a call to Ikea to enquire but unfortunately after about 3 mins wait to get through, the CS rep. told me to call again later as the information was not available at the moment or something like that.

    Thanks!

wasn't aware of this... might have been done out of dosh!

they do send you vouchers through the post of the same effect - spend £100+, get 10% back - but these are usually time limited e.g. bank holiday weekend purchases only
  • PS. imho they're a bit sluggish in sending their monthly statements out, therefore don't leave you with much time to pay it... got caught once, charged £20, rang them up and they lowered it to £10
