Hi Shelly,
it does need to be a fair old whack, a simple tap on the plastic wouldnt make much difference.
but if it falls off the side board in the kitchen on a hard floor rather than Carpet, this could be enough, have to be very careful with your helmet. Just be aware of this!
Happy riding, I also have a Motorbike, I treasure my helmet! :-) beside the fact if cost me nearly 300 notes... lol
:-)
regards
Mark
What bike do you have?
Hubby has an R1 and unfortunately as it has a strap between the legs to hold onto I can't go out with him as I have a back problem and it kills me to lean forward for any length of time.
I keep nagging him to get a Busa:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Has someone else been seriously hurt or killed by said light fittings in the past?
Is there any reason for those responsible for the mtce of the light fittings to remove the fixings and inspect them for any corrosion that could cause a fixing to fail resulting in the fixture to fall?
How old is the helmet? What light sources has it been exposed to during it's lifespan? How is it stored when not in use?
Perhaps theres a nationwide issue here requiring all car park owner/operators in the whole of the UK inspecting all fixtures and fittings as a matter of urgency.
OR it might just be a case of !!!! happens.
I don't care for your tone, quite frankly. Someone has to pay for it, and why should he?0 -
Ignore the troll/idiot scotsman 4th and take note of the excellent advice given by mattymoo, olly300 and Crazy Jamie - they know what they are talking about.0

A north London council has been fined £40,000 after a 24-year-old scaffolder was fatally electrocuted by a faulty security light while working on a local authority housing estate.
Ralph Kennedy was killed instantly when he touched the live metal casing during improvements to a building at the estate in September 2006.
The Old Bailey heard ambulance officers were unable to revive him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation by the police and Health and Safety Executive found somebody had cut the earth cable to the light, possibly to stop it flickering.
Camden Council admitted breaching health and safety laws by failing to inspect light fittings on the estate.
The council was, in addition to the fine, also ordered to pay costs of more than £16,000.0 -
