Camping in Anglesey

We've just booked to go camping next month to a campsite near Amlwch. Just wondered if any of you folk out there have been to that part of the country and what there is to do and see apart from walking. Though any good walks would be appreciated!
Never been to Anglesey before so hopefully have made the right choice.
Thanks in anticipation

Thanks for that jimsmumNo thank the lord!!!! Been there done that, they are 18, 19 and 21 now so unless we are going abroad and we pay (!!!!) they don't want to come.

Though technically speaking Anglesey is 'abroad' as we live in Yorkshire!!

  • I love Anglesey, plenty places for me, OH and the dog to go to.
Long walks, picnics, nice quiet places to chill out
Plenty to keep young kids entertained.
    But 18, 19 & 21 !!!!!
I think you're heading for disaster unless they are into surfing !

Don't think they are taking the kids by the sounds of it?

Mine are 18 and 20, and if I took them away in a tent in Yorkshire-we'd kill each other before the tent was put up!!

I went to Anglesey last year in our caravan OH & our dog.

We don't walks, apart from dog walks but there are so many lovely beaches you'll find that are great just to have a walk.

I'd never been before but it really is a lovely place to go & can't wait to go again.

    Mortgage-free Glee!
good area for walking and natrual beauty is around south stack lighthouse there is a cafe and rspb centre also on the 11th (i think ) at 9-30 there is the "leap of faith" where they give a walk and talk when all the chicks jump off the cliffs into the water after their dads for the first time.good walk around the lake their too. Holyhead is nice when nice but bleak when the weathers bad. Bull Bay is beautiful and holds special memories for me. Best place to eat on Anglesey My vote goes to The Ship Inn on Red Whalf Bay. I have a little van in Caernarfon and often cross the menai
 hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world
