Recovering Deleted items from Outlook Express 6

Anyone help?

I've deleted emails from Outlook (Empty Deleted items from deleted folder) is there any way of retrieving them?

I am not aware of any way of retrieving them after emptying the Deleted Folder.

The Deleted folder is a bit like the Recycle Bin i.e. last chance!

you can download software which will restore deleted files, i downloaded one at work a couple of years ago and it found lost emails as well.
I can't remember if the trial software i downloaded let you just view what you'd lost or restore a set amount as we didn't need to use it in the end. Worth a google search though.

Messages aren't deleted from the Deleted Items folder until OE compacts the folders.

Search for *.dbx files and create a backup of all those files in case anything goes wrong. There should be a Deleted Items.dbx file and if it isn't very small in size the deleted messages should still be there.

Try opening the file with Wordpad to see deleted messages (you'll see a lot of rubbish), or use a program like DBXtract to recover the messages.

Thanks for the information Chippy regarding deletion on compaction.

I have previously used the search facility provided in OE Reader to find specific e-mails in backed up .dbx files, so the OP may well find them.

Try Chippy's advice. If the .dbx files are really gone for good use a data recovery program like PC Inspector File Recovery
