What is it about little dogs and Akitas?
My Male Akita was attacked a few times by JRT's swinging on his neck, he never attacked them back just used to look at me as if to say "will you get him off I am bored now"
The same JRT attacked my !!!!! akita and the outcome was a tad different.
Really probably a very bad thing for me to say but sounds like the JRT had it coming...little dogs tend to have little person syndrome (eg. its always the little guys you see starting fights with the big bouncers of a night out).Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0 -

My Grandad use to have a little terrier a long time ago that use to growl bark at everything it could. One day on the beach he met the local zoo keeper taking some tiger cubs for a walk (It was the 70's before Health and Safety was invented) and although they were cubs they were maybe about 50-60kg. Anyway apparently the dog stayed at heel and kept very quiet.0 -

I definately think that would be better, you can also see how he's doing compared to other dogs of his age,I found it was definatley the best way to socialise my puppy.
Where do you live? The lady who ran our group (akita breeder) is still doing puppy training,if you are nearby it would be an excellent group for you to join,pm me!0 -
Well our Border today decided to have a go at the neighbours dog which is a rather large pavement special. She was as usual coming off worst but the even after the big dog had picked her up by the back leg and shaken her before letting go she just had to go back for more. So embarassing.
Goodness knows how she does it but she has so far always come away unscathed, fortunately they only manage to meet each other about once every six months.0
