Hi there,
I have recently lost my job, and used work computer (as I did for 20 years). My computer at home only has word pad. I have downloaded something to be able to 'read' word documents, but nothing to be able to edit or create documents in Word.
Is there anything I can download for free from the internet please?
Looked on Microsoft site and its all upgrades and things and now im totally confused.
Can anyone help me please?

Nothing really to add other than more advice to get OpenOffice, they are fantastic software, open source (therefore free entirely) and are just as good (though better imo) to the microsoft office package.Laptop: Asus X58L; 2Ghz Celeron M575; 1Gb RAM; Intel X3100 Graphic chip set; 120Gb Hitatchi HTS542512K; 15.4" Widescreen. Vista Home Basic
Desktop:Custom Build; Pentium 4 - 3.20Ghz; 1Gb Dual DDR2700 Ram; Radeon 9800Pro 128Mb AGP Graphics Card; 60Gb Maxtor 4R060L0; Windows 7 Ultimate0 -
Google Docs, Open Office, Oxygen Office Pro & Lotus Syphony are all free, legal and will do what you want to.0
