West London to Gatwick using my freedom pass

Anyone know the best, cheapest way to utalise your Freedom Pass to get to Gatwick from West London area please.
Be good to the young on their way up you might need them on your way down.

    Depends what time you are travelling - believe Freedom pass is not valid on National Rail before 0900.

    After 0900 buy a single East Croydon to Gatwick then travel on First Capital Connect (from London Bridge or St Pancras - Blackfriars tube is closed) or Southern (from Victoria - NOT Gatwick Express!) to Gatwick. Freedom pass is valid as far as East Croydon so Robert is your mother's brother!!!
