Thin 3.5" hard drives

What are the thinnest old/new 3.5" desktop hard drives you can get ??
Bought a couple of 20-40GB hard drives off ebay which are around 17mm thick.
(Maxtor Fireball 3 & Seagate ST320014A)
I think these old lower capacity drives may be thinner than larger capacity drives you get these days as they have less platters.
Is this about as thin as they come (17mm) or can you get thinner ones ??

One thing I have noticed with the thinner ones is that the failure rates seem to be higher than the standard thickness ones. Had a couple of batches of 30 of them a few years ago that failed within a year (they were Maxtors), no such problems with batches of other drives.0

To be honest, you might be better off looking at 2.5" drives.Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0
