so now which blu ray player do I buy?

Many thanks to you all for advice on TV's I have now ordered one ( via quidco of course!) but not going to say which one in case some one puts me off! Now I need to chose a Blu Ray player but again no idea. whats the difference between a Blu ray and a home cinema system. Will any one fit any TV? Am I spelling it right? I have got my head rounf 1920x1080p but is this the same standard for the blu ray? Do I need blu ray or just a DVD player? Will it play CD's? Is there light at the end of the tunnel or is it just a train coming towards me? All help gratefully accepted. thank you in advance

yes you are spelling it right
yes blu-ray is displayed at 1080p resolution if your tv is capable of it, if nit then 1080i/720p is what you will see (you need to connect via hdmi)
The difference between blu-ray players and blu-ray cinema kits is that the players are stand alone players. They play Blu-rays, dvds and cds, thats it. The cinema kit blu-ray players are a player with a built in amplifier that power a home cinema surround sound system supplied with the blu-ray player/amp.
And finally, yes they will play cd's

no real idea about budget at this stage depends if I think home cinema is hte way to go I may just buy a cheap DVD player just really wanted to get an idea of what I am buying before I spend loads of money Mnay thanks0
