Scottish Power - warning

Ever since I swapped to Scottish Power a few years ago I have had nothing but trouble with them:
1: Always having to pay extra where they have estimated wrongly.
2: Now I read my own meters they billed me for over £3k during the last quarter - after 2 lengthy phone calls the bill was revised and my DD put up to £87 a month
3:In May Scottish Power upped my DD to £127 without prior notification
To anyone seduced into using them just ensure you check every online bill and challenge often but being their customer is time consuming
Why haven't I changed??
Well we are moving within the next 2 months
Shareholders rule it would seem for all power companies so what chance does the ordinary person have?
I'd love to have more advice:j

    Welcome to the forum.

Under the Direct Debit Guarantee, they are not allowed to increase your DD without prior notification. If you contact your bank they will refund without any question.

That said the notification is often buried away in the small print at the bottom of a bill.
