Orchid dialler query

ok, so how does this thing connect to your pc? is it USB?

ii) whats this "call home" thing?

    It dosen't connect to your PC .
    You download software .You should receive a link and log on details from orchid .
    Each dialler or ranger phone has a serial number .
    You log on to the software to set up your routing table ,orchid can set it up for you for free at the time off purchase .
    The dialler is connected to the phoneline .
    The " call home " is just to get your dialler to connect with there server and activate it .

    (A)the V4 dialler does not have a power supply ,generally ok with a BT line .
    (B)the V4 plus has a power supply you may need this if you use cable NTL ect .
    (c)the ranger phone has the dialler built into the phone .Now if you get A,B,or C and its not right orchid will let you change it for another type .

    with the V4 & V4 plus you need one dialler per phone socket .
    Generally one dialler is all that you need even with multi handset cordless phones .
