job seekers

hi im thinking about moving in with my girlfriend at the moment she is on income support and im on job seekers allowance would i lose any of this if i move in with her or would we have to do a joint claim and if so would we get less money

    You will have to do a joint JSA claim, though if you are at the point of moving in with her the DWP may already class you as a couple now.

    Although you'll get a bit less money for a joint claim, you'll only have one household to run so should be much better off.

    Edit: How are you getting JSA if you have your own double glazing business?

    The money you received from the sale of your house would also effect your JSA if you received over £6000.00 from the sale.

    i have been on a few tax credit calculators and it said when my boyfriend moves in and he is earning £17000 a year i will still get £220 child tax credit and £3 working tax credit and obviously no income support.does that sound right i thought the child tax credit would go down

    Looks like he is earning a decent salary ???
