Rounding up - anyone else doing this?

My latest way to 'fool' myself into putting more money into my savings is to round everything up.
I pay for everything on my credit card and clear it in full every month, hence keeping the money in my account (which offsets my mortgage) for longer and giving me rewards. I used to subtract whatever I spent from the money in my current account so I knew I'd always have enough to cover the bill.
I am now rounding the amount up to the nearest pound before subtracting it. ie £21.36 becomes £22. That means I've put an extra 0.64 aside for the credit card bill than is needed. This month I've just over £15 extra for the credit card than I need. This is going straight into my offset savings account. Not much but over a year that's £180.

I do this with everything I spend! I use http://www.spendingdiary.com/
to put in everything I spend and I always round up - it can add up to quite a nice little figure after a while.Kondo'ed 76 items from wardrobe, 4 carrier bags of books0 -
I always round up my money, from the money I needed to transfer each month to my bill-paying account, to making sure that I know how much I spend on my Credit cards. It is a quick and easy way to stay in credit.
I used to do this with my repayment mortgage. I ended up paying it off 18 months early:j. Every little really does help:T.0 -
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies.
