Nissan Almera Cutting out

I own a P reg nissan almera, it has been a great car & never given me any problems. About 3 weeks ago, i though i had stalled the car in traffic, & re started the engine & drove off. It now appears that the car is cutting out. There is no warning that the car is going to cut out.
It only happens when i am coming to a stop & going from second gear to first gear that it cuts out. The only reason that i know that it has cut out as all the lights come on my dash. It makes no noise when cutting out & i am getting a bit worried as it has now happened twice in two days. When the car cuts out, i can immediately re start it by restarting the ignition.
I am going to take it to the garage but wondered if anyone had any ideas as to what it might be? Many thanks
