Yep - that's exactly we we did in Spain the other week to watch the Champions League final!
EDIT: Then again, I wish we hadn't really.0 -

Owning a motorised system with a 1.1m dish I am intrigued to know which channels broadcast Premier League games free to air can be received in Europe on this system.
Please enlighten us!RIP independent MSE.

Hi, will this work in a caravan please?Hopeless by name, hopeless by nature.0

It says on the box it is good for camping/caravaning, so I presume the only issue is direction to face the dish,
Lutz, is there a device to know the optimum direction for this to face?0 -
From memory to get 'similar' channels to to freeview you point it at 28.2 east to get the appropriate Astra sat. As earlier I recommend a sat finder-I bought mine in B&Q for £10, also noticed same thing in Currys, same price. It contains sat finder and compass. Also, if buying this for use abroad the dish may be too small- I can't tell from lidl picture.0

Thanks Maximo,
Will have a look in B&Q later, for a £10 it is worth it.0 -
You can also go to--http://www.dishpointer.com/--select Astra 2a 2b 2d on 28.2 E and then input your address. You can then move the cursor to your house and get a line of sight for pointing the dish, it gives you a good idea of where to start but in my case I still found the sat finder invaluable.--0

Well as others have said, a sat finder is well worth having with a portable kit like this - indeed previously there's either been one included or one on offer at Lidl on the same day, but not this time it would seem. Bear in mind the cheap ones only tell you you're pointed at a satellite, not which particular one.
But you can do it without - the receiver should be preprogrammed with the transponder frequencies and some channels of all the satellites it's likely to to pointed at, so from the antenna menu setup just select the one you want then waggle the dish around until you get a picture! As for finding the optimum direction, there is a signal strength meter built into the receiver.
Like I said before, it's easier to get the general direction if you've got a few Sky dishes around you to copy - bear in mind the elevation angle is important too (though on an offset dish like the one in the kit it you may be surprised to find it almost upright if pointed at Astra 2D).
For the faint hearted I did once see a "self-aiming" satellite antenna for caravan use on Ebay, but as I recall it was £300!

so on the whole guys it seems that this is a good buy well done to the person who posted this,
I am sure Lidl was happy with the interest in the stores at 8am (But they are doing well anyway!)0 -
Just looked at the box, it comes with a signal meter, is this the meter we are talking about0
