DH recently fitted one of these , but when the cistern has finished filling up after flushing, it makes a thudding noise. He says he has fitted it right, but the 'thud' is beginning to irritate me. Any clues as to the problem would be appreciated

Is it fitted to a mains pressure supply ? Has the correct insert been fitted inside as per the instructions?
