Tenancy agreement - right to see it?

We are going to rent a new property. Do I have the right to ask to see the tenancy agreement before handing over the deposit?

What can I do if there are any clauses I don't like the look of? Our moving date is already fixed, so I don't want to jeopardise that. I'll be homeless, otherwise :rolleyes:0
