Need some ideas please - Virgin Fundraiser!!
Well the good news is that my Guide unit have been excepted onto a once in a life time trip to Italy next year ; a whole week of rafting and climbing. They are all very excited - some have never been abroad before... but the bad news is they have changed the money requirements! Instead of the £25 deposit we thought we would have to pay - we have to find £100 each (which is a pain for me as my daughter is one of the guides so I need £200!!)
We have a summer fete planned - though any ideas for stalls would be very welcome! I've got the tombola sorted, a craft table and one for bric-a-brac and clothes... all the stuff is piled in my living room and the OH is not liking Guiding at the moment!!
And I have thought perhaps a sponsored event, a Xmas event & sale. I am very conscience (or conscious?) that I can't keep asking the same people for money which is why we want to try community events rather than asking the parents all the time (we already have to pay £200 towards the trip)
I want to raise about £1,500 by next May - how realistic is that? This is my first foray into fundraising and I want it to all go well... any suggestions will be gratfully recieved!!!

Bag packing at your local supermarket? Seems to happen quite often with ours, although having a leaflet about why you are doing it would make me slightly more generous.Signature removed for peace of mind0

Apparently that is a 'district' activity and so all the funds go to the district fund rather than us (although will will apply to district for a grant) There is a lot of money to be made bag packing though.
Now our places our confirmed i'll have to get the Guides designing posters and flyers .....
