DLP & Cap Esterel for a family holiday?

I'm looking for a Summer holiday for the four of us including 2 boys aged 6 & 4. I looked on Mumsnet for recommendations, & Cap Esteril was 3rd in their list of top picks. It appealed to me most of all, because there seemed to be alot there for the children. What they don't say is how many people have reviewed it, so...
I'd be interested to know if anyone's been, & if so their experiences.
Also, we'd like to have 3 days at DLP, prior to a week there. So anybody got any good ideas on how to travel? Do any of our cheaper airlines, offer internal flights within France, or would the train be better? Should we drive to DLP, leave the car in Paris & fly to the Cote D'Azur, returning to collect the car after our week there?
Can anyone suggest a child orientated holiday village closer to DLP? Or a good alternative to all of it?
We would prefer to go later in the school holidays, our school re-opens on Monday the 4th of September, so as long as we're home that weekend it's fine. We can take the ferry, the Eurostar, the Eurotunnel or fly from London, Birmingham or Luton. We're quite flexible, & not on too tight a budget.
I just need it to be fun for everyone - else it's money wasted :eek:

I've never been to Cap Esterel, but if you mean the Pierre et Vacances chain, I can heartily recommend if you have small children;
https://www.pierreetvacances.co.uk - we have been to Port Bourgenay in the Vendee 3 times.The apartments are quite small (think mobile home size), but the complexes are beautifully kept, with lots of things to do (especially if you play golf!).Think of a posh Butlins!!0
