Looking to hire a car from Belfast Int Airport for 3 days
Need a baby seat for a 18 month old also.
Do I bring my own?
Any ideas?
Thanks

When you book up the company you hire through will be able to hire one at the same time. I doubt there is a hire company around that doesn't these days.0

We've taken our own on occasion and been allowed to fit it into the seat on the plane, if you'e booked one for your toddler! It's at the discretion of the airline/cabin crew, but we've only ever had one problem doing that. We travel quite a lot
Not to worry you, but some of the rented seats leave a lot to be desired. They'll probably give it to you at the rental desk. Fitting an unfamiliar seat in an unfamiliar car with a child possibly screaming in the background isn't the best of starts.
Even if you can't take your own into the cabin, you can check it as luggage, but my wife's not too keen on that, risk of damage in transit etc. Doesn't worry me too much as how can anyone vouch for how many times the rented seat has been dropped by previous renters?
A French subsidiary of Thrifty tried to insist that I had ordered a toddler seat for a six month old baby (because that's all they had left). Eventually after a long argument they borrowed a baby seat from another company.
Assuming the safety of your child is paramount, take your own seat if you possibly can. At least you know how to fit it properly and where it's been.0 -
You will be able to get one from the car rental company but there will be a charge. I've just had a quick look and the typical charges are around £23.50 (Opodo) at Belfast Int Airport. You can compare car rental prices at the site below...
