An NRP won say £250k on the lotto, how does this affect assesments?
(no I have not won) but interest rates are low so how is the assets over £65K assessed?

the whole 250k could be subject to the statutory rate of 8% which is set by the county court with regard to daily intrest rates for outstanding debts. Until it is changed you would pay 15/20/25% of the 8% However if you took the calculation to Appeal under the current climate the judge is likly to varry the amount down under the just and equitable rule which recently has been widened by a number of upper tribunal decisions0

Gosh 8%, when I last looked I was getting 0.1% gross on savings and mortgage rate is 2.5% from July, where do they get 8% from? mind you, there is no point me worrying about it, as I have not won it

you could always put the winnings in the nrpp name and then the csa wouldnt' have a claim to it at all, and you could treat the child/ren as you wished0
