Just got an email from greasypalm
OH has a payment going in of £65 from cashback deal on insurance he took out months ago
Obviously it will show on his bank statement does he have to declare this as income ? he's on JSA
Sorry if it's a dim question but it's worrying me
Thanks

I'm sure I have read somewhere that you do not need to for tax credits.
As for income support or other means tested benefits, no, I don't personally.
It is only the same as loyalty cards in my view and basically getting something back for money you have spent so I cannot see it counts as income...
It is technicaly no different to selling your own used items on ebay or at a carboot or whatever imo, and that doesn't havwe to be declared.
It may be different if you are doing masses of click throughs and the like to earn money though...?
I'll be interested to see if anyone knows for sure though.0 -
I do not think that this counts as income either.
Hopefully one of our helpful posters who have expert knowledge on this can confirm.0 -
I`m 99.9% certain that it doesnt count as income, after all its affectively a discount and not income in anyway.0

Probably best to ring them and get it confirmed but I honestly dont think it counts as income. I'll look in the DMG to see if it has anything relating to this.
EDIT: Couldnt find anything.0 -
Would be interested to know if anyone has a means of checking ?"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."
