Does anyone have a stainless steel BBQ from Tesco?

Hi - I was thinking to buy a stainless steel BBQ from Tesco because they have them on sale and I can use my clubcard vouchers. However, it doesn't say anything about lava rock, and I read that you need lava rock to get that BBQ taste - otherwise it is basically a grill, not a BBQ.
So does anyone have one who could tell me about it? I'm looking at the 4 burner one, just because the 3 burner is out of stock, but I guess they all work the same way.
Any advice gratefully received.

I forgot to say it is a gas bbq.0

You dont need lava rock. The BBQ taste is actually fat dripping onto the burners and producing smoke which flavours the food.0
