OK so i know there isnt nearly enough money coming into the house to make these repayments, but we are both looking for work and i am doing surveys etc to make a bit extra money.

Alliance and Leicester have closed my bank account so the charges for being over my overdraft have been frozen and some of the charges have been paid back. (they are looking at the rest to see what they can do) and i am going to CAB on friday morning to get help with my creditors.

Any help would be great.

Many thanks

well, got up this morning to the sound of the puppy barking to be let out, and realised what a lovely day it was, until i thought of money. Looked in my purse and found £6.50 out of £30 food budget and as i didnt get any meat or frozen stuff yesterday (couldnt carry everything) decided to go to local butcher and the co-op for rest. Still didnt have enough money left to get everything i needed. Hey ho will have to do without butter or marg (so much for the baking day i was supposed to be having today) may well find some pennies from somewhere and get on with the baking tomorrow. i need to get my finger out and sort out all my documents for CAB on friday. OH hasnt been paid for the rest of his time at work due to the holidays he had taken, so the money we were expecting today didnt happen. So we have got £22 to last us 2 weeks. OMG how on earth are we gonna feed the dog never mind ourselves plus gas and electric.

    Plans for tomorrow

    1. walk dog
    2. bake bread
    3. make a pie (frozen pastry)

I will probably do more stuff tomorrow and add it on as i go along

Any tips on how to make £22 last 2 weeks please let me know

    Hiya

Is there anything around the house that you don't need any more and could possibly sell? Are you signed up with ebay? Local papers sometimes have sections where you can advertise items for sale free of charge.

Hi barrys-lass, dunno about the gas/electric.
Otherwise look weezl and others threads on living on 50p day etc.
Off top of my head I'm thinking soups, couscous, pastas, rice, puds, flour stuff (bread cakes biscuits dumplings pancakes lasagne etc), basically fillers, french toast, crackers & cheese, beans. Basically try to eke out everything you do buy. Grate cheese make spread, make potato cakes, soak beans & pulses, porridge, buy cheap flavoured noodles tesco, - others on old style got great ideas. Google ShirleyGoode - great.
    Good luck.

Thank you for all of your ideas, tonight iv made a corned beef pie and iv got ideas from old style board as well as tips from you kind people, one of my problems is that my OH eats like a pig and if there is and thing left in the pan which i plan to use the next day or freeze, he eats the lot while sorting the dishes!!!!

Ok, so i have sorted out my bumf for CAB tomorrow, problem being i dont think i have the money for bus fare to get back (long walk home me thinks, hope it doesnt rain!!!) I have update my SOA but still in the dark as OH JSA not sorted out yet. We ran out of tobacco last night and said we were not going to buy any more as couldnt afford it, but we were jumping down eachothers throats but lunchtime, so off to the shop for OH it was. I have been soooo lazy today and am still in my pj's, got no motivation at all today feeling really dowm in the dumps.

On the plus side the corned beef pie i made last night went down well for tea, and there is still some left for OH for supper as he is a greedy hog :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The puppy is eating his new cheaper food, so will be saving some money there and im going to go through all the survey sites im registered on and see if there are any surveys ready for me.

We have ran out of milk so black coffee and dry cereal for us for the next week and half, or could have toast i suppose but want to keep marg for all the baking im (supposed to be) doing to save money.

Im going to start a spending diary just to see exactly how much we spend on groceries, and if anything can be changed.

    Plans for tomorrow...

    1. get up early as appt for CAB at 9.30 and have to travel by bus and i dont know where it is!!!!

    2. make a list of everything in cupboards/fridge/freezer so i can meal plan for next week and half

    3. wash inside of living room window as puppy nose smudges all over

    4. pick OH 2 youngest kids up for weekend

thats enough for now i think, more will happen im sure as my life surely isnt that boring!!!!!!!!!

Oh, has any1 got any spend free ideas for entertaining 9 and 10 year olds?

Hi BL just wanted to say hi & keep going ... sounds like you are really up against it but I'm sure that it WILL get better ;)

As for entertaining the little ones how about footie in the park? Or walking the dog, throwing ball etc? Or board games? Or a mini assault (sp) course in the garden? Jumping, skipping, hopping up & down garden in teams? Or can they help you bake?

Wishing you a lovely weekend chick :D
