mmmm chips cheese and coleslaw.... I have even seen some places doing chips cheese and donner kebab meat.. YUK

Best chippy has to be the bervie chipper in Inverbervie. I am seriously unimpressed with the seaway in Monifieth then again i live round the corner so it is 'my local'.

That used to be a great place until it was sold on, I think the best chippy is, The Bay in Stonehaven.

I'm not sure what i was more shocked at... the bervie chipper on the A90 near Laurencekirk or the bervie chipper up past Nairn.
Sometimes i surprise myself by being right.

Prepare to be shocked even more, there is a Bervie Chipper in Stone haven too, but unfortunatly it went on fire a couple of weeks ago, and the one in the obvious place Inverbervie, do you remember the one in Arbroath? it used to be called The Bellrock, as far as I know it has now changed back to the Bellrock.

Oh i knew about the Stonehaven Bervie and the fire, just hadn't been down the A90 in ages so never noticed they had opened up on there, and thought Nairn was too far away to have a Bervie chippie. Hadn't heard of the Arbroath one, did they do a special smokie supper??

The original is still the best, it's just a shame that the Ashvale and the Dolphin are now nowhere near as good as they used to be.

Yes the Bellrock still does a smokie supper, battered I think !
I find the Inverbervie one is crap now, it's so difficult to find a good one nowadays. I tried The Bay in Stonehaven but it wasn't that good either.

I know, when I first came up here from Glasgow, I couldn't believe how expensive bus fares were especially for the size of Aberdeen compared to Glasgow.
What makes it worse First Group started in Aberdeen from the Aberdeen Corporation Transport when the buses were deregulated.

Aye, I know, I remember the old Grampian Regional Transport (GRT) as it was then, you would have thought as they are the largest bus company in Britian they would be able to keep fares lower, but then again there's a word for it, Greed!!!!

I moved from England (West Yorkshire) to Scotland and I can honestly say the only things I really miss is proper fish and chips wi'bits - they just can't do decent fish and chips here on the west coast.

Postives about living in Scotland are, the beautiful scenery and amazing wildlife, wide-open spaces, fresh air, a better NHS service,

Negatives are the daytime drinkers and junkies - I didn't experience anything like it in England - midges and the very very occasional racism
