I tried to set up an account with highcreditscore.co.uk, I put in all my details and was waiting for the email with activation number, I never did receive this, I sent a message on the contact page but did not hear anything from them at.
I thought no more of it till today when I looked at my bank statement and find they have taken the money out of my account.
I rang the bank first who said contact them to cancel, so I did, I got a very rude man who said tough I cannot cancel as it has passed the 10 day limit, I said I have not received anything, the reply I got was we sent you an email with activation and it is now to late to cancel. I will have to pay and keep paying.
I am a bit mad at this, 19.95 a month for absolutely nothing. I still have not received any emails from them. I regularly check the junk folder just in case.
I have rung the bank again explained what was said, no guarantee I will get my money back let alone cancel the continuous payment.

It all looks absolutely terrible!
I can't get to any page other than the home page.. It offers AVG online security which is free... iTrak is a system of tags, if someone finds your luggage they have to go to the website and that comes up with ways to contact you... Writing your number with a biro would amount to the same "protection".
As I am not able to browse the website, I'm intrigued - what possessed you to get an account with them in the first place? What were you expecting in the way of emails etc?I love surprises!0 -
It is supposed to be a site where you can check credit score quickly. It offered a weeks trial which you were supposed to be able to cancel, I did not cancel as I did not receive anything from them.0

Sorry the email was supposed to have contained my activation pin.0

I think perhaps I am on the wrong website?? Although the main website on Google shows highcreditscore dot co dot uk...
Looking at their Ts&Cs..
6. TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP AND RIGHTS TO CANCEL
6.1 A Member may terminate this Agreement (i.e. cancel Membership) at any time by:
6.1.1 Calling us or emailing us on the telephone number listed on the Scheme website; or
6.1.2 By notifying us in writing at: High Credit Score, PO Box 587, Edgware, HA8 4DX.
IF we're talking about the same website I'd recommend you phone 3 times tomorrow and if you have no satisfactory response, post off tomorrow a letter, and then get advice off board members who know better than me about getting your initial payment back.

I can't see any way to register yourself on that site."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

High Credit Score is a meaningless term for a meaningless revenue generation exercise put together by the curiously named Adaptive Affinity Limited, a UK off-shoot of Adaptive Marketing of Omaha, Nebraska, USA.
If you have concerns that you are being defrauded, you should write to whichever correspondence address you have been provided with and also send a copy of that letter to Callcredit, The Bailey, Skipton, North Yorkshire, BD23 1DN, the reputable credit reference agency which appears to be the principal "partner" in this strange operation.
The text of your letter to both parties should make it clear that you are complaining to Trading Standards about misrepresentation, an issue Callcredit would not take lightly.0 -
Update
I had an email from them yesterday to say my account is cancelled.
I replied asking for a refund of payment taken from account.
I got an answer saying no as I did not cancel in the 10 days. I just got of the phone to them where the lady this time, called me a liar when I said I have not received anything from you, the first communication I have received from them was yesterday. Apparently they sent an email and as far as they are concerned that is as far as it goes. I still have no access to the site as I never did receive activation. I am sure they can tell that I am telling the truth. £19.95 and still do not know what my credit score is.0 -

Credit scores are meaningless, almost randomly-generated numbers designed only to relieve you of money. Which this one did, sadly.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

I just signed up to this thinking it was Experian as thats what I searched for. Stupid me I went ahead and signed up anyway. I immediately saw these reviews and phoned my bank, they suggested cancelling the card. I will phone the company tomorrow and if no answer I will cancel my card. If you are unsure always cancel as its better to be safe than sorry. Also contact the FSA, record all emails and communication, viewing email headers is your proof!0
