cheapest way to travel from sunderland to coventry

hi ya all just need some help my sister is wanting to come to visit me on 26th june she has 2 young kids aged 5 and 2 , which way is it cheapest for her to come down without making any changes , do any of you rekon she can get down for less than £40 , as shes not got much money ,
she needs iether train or bus from sunderland to coventry or birmingham i could collect her from at a push , thanks in advance x she is just wanting a 1 way ticket as she can get a lift back
