iTunes issues

Hello,

the computer which my iTunes was installed on has died - won't switch on, looks pretty terminal.

Luckily I still have a laptop to use, which has iTunes from my OH's iPhone.

When I plug my iPod into the lappy, it says I need to erase my iPod and synch with his iTunes.

Is there any way of getting tunes off my iPod and onto the lappy - either through iTunes or other means?

You can use Yamipod to get the tracks from off your iPod and onto your laptop.

Yes I've used it with my Linux system with Wine.
It does the job.

right I have done it! downloaded Yami.

Now, can I erase my Ipod, synch with new itunes and transfer stuff from Yami?

or is that asking too much?

Oh !!!!!! now there is no icon on the desktop and can't find it in my progammes

right after much biffery on my part, my files are now being downloaded to my hard drive.

if it works I can wipe the 'pod and start again. whoo hoo!

Make sure the tunes you've taken off, are put into iTunes on the laptop.

Maybe create a playlist that contains all your music, so you don't get your OH's..
