How to get my master socket fixed without BT charging me?

Hi All,

My master phone socket has been smashed, how do I get BT to fix it without them charging me £130?

I have tried re-wiring the socket, but to no avail.

Thanks,
Pete.

Strictly speaking you are not supposed to touch the master socket, but it is not unknown for some people to purchase new official BT ones on ebay to replace existing sockets, not that I would condone such actions.:D

I would try rewiring it again carefully :)

Edit: should have read more carefully - get a new one as mentioned above and then wire it up :)

£130? Extortion. eBay £20 all inclusive, wire it yourself following an online guide. :)
