C2C Monthly ticket student

I need to get a monthly train ticket to travel between Upminster and Southend Central on the C2C line. I will only be making this journey for a month monday to friday. I have found the cheapest to be £187 which I still feel is a little expensive. I'm also a 20 year old university student, so I don't know if I could get some discount? Where would be the best place to look? Thanks

It depends on what time your traveling, If you need to travel in the morning peak (before 09.30) then a season ticket will be the best value. If your traveling offpeak (after 10:00 for Railcard) then a good saving will be had using a 16-25 railcard but you will have to purchase one so that needs to be added to the overall costs.
Offpeak Day return £6.65 * 5 * 4 + 26 = £159Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0
