UKPC ticket issued, i have a permit but it fell of dashboard

I recently received a parking ticket from UKPC for my car being parked in my company private car park. I do have a valid parking permit but it had fallen out of view. Also it doesn't state on any of the parking notices that the permit has to be displayed, just that you must own one.

I obviously appealed the ticket but the appeal was denied. I then rung up the customer service number and spoke to a lady who, after a long conversation, put me on hold and came back telling me that the ticket had actually been cancelled and I will receive a letter stating that.

Well you can guess, I didn't receive that letter but have received a letter saying they have passed the debt to the debt collection agency.

Now when I ring up to ask what’s going on they say that the ticket wasn't cancelled and as I don't know who I spoke to then they basically don't believe me.

How surprising! They say that they record phone calls but now I have to go through and send letters etc.. for them to probably not get the phone call from the system and just ignore me and I’m worried that the price of the fine is going to go up from the £45.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Ignore it and have no further communication with them.

This is nothing more than a scam - Its not a ticket either, all you have is an unenforcable invoice instead.

Also ignore any communication or threats from their fake debt collectors as well. They can't do anything to you unless they take you to court, win and you fail to pay-up - the chances of which are absolutely miniscule.

Just file the threats in case you do need evidence and forget.

Also, if it ever happens again, do not contact them or try to "appeal" - it is a sham process, they will go away a lot quicker if you don't confirm your identity to them.

Search down this forum, you will find plenty of discussion about UKPC and their methods.

    There IS no appeals process!

This is a private company, whose aim it is to make as much money as possible. It would not be in their interests to tell you not to pay.
