Yes, but I would ask Barclays to remove the Reserve from your account.

? is this right? (not that I dispute your knowledge) but as far as i was aware, this is basically a service charge for the "additional" overdraft. You can opt out of it at anytime, and could have done so when it started.

Just curious, as if so, will be the next thing to hit them with!!

You can ask them to remove the personal reserve from your account, cos they charge £22 every 5 working days, however, if you get rid of it, it means that they will only charge you £8 for bounced items and not the additional £22 on a personal reserve.
    Does that make sense?
Another poster has said that the account would go to collections but £22 against perhaps a payment plan while reclaiming charges, I know what I would choose.

Indeed NSM - as I said, I am aware it could be removed, and as you say, £8 for a referred item is better than £22 for the reserve use.

However, as indicated above, I was unaware customers were able to claim the £22 charges back.

Barclays will say that they are fair and that they are not part of the Waiver on bank charges, which is true, however, they have not been challenged in a court of law so I would suspect that if they were then the claim would automatically be stayed.
