HDMI DVD Player £19.99

Hi there.
There are still 9 - 10 of these £19.99 DVD player at the Oxford branch yesterday.
I have checked inside the box for a couple of them and discovered that there is no 'HDMI connector port' for this machine i.e. no need for a HDMI cable.
The HDMI upscaling is presumably done via the SCART?
Will the quality be as good as that via an HDMI connection.
For that reason I didn't buy one.
However the DVD player is quite slim, compact and light - size of a set-top box!
3 years warranty is good too if Lidl can always honour this with a valid receipt.0 -

Sorry - that must have been a different player.
The one we are all discussing here is the Silvercrest KH6520, which definitely does have a HDMI socket, though no HDMI cable is included.
It is also dark grey/black, and full width (430mm or so).
I've just been to my local Lidl and they had a few Silvercrest SL65 satellite receivers piled up (not in kits) - could it have been one of those you inspected?

Yes. I am confused as well.
The size of it is similar to a digital receiver SL35T (SL65/12) however it says DVD player on the box with no model number. At the back there is 1 SCART, RGB connectors, a S-video connector and an optical socket - all very close together, not much space for anything else. Definitely no HDMI connector.
I have a quick browse on the SilverCrest website and both the SL65/12 receiver and the other KH6XXX series DVD players don't match.
Also, the original price was £32.99.
An obsolete model for a clearance bargain??????0 -
now i am confused, if it has no hdmi connection, how does it upscale, as that wont work through the scart connectionTake every day as it comes!!0

The Lidl Disc Player is good value. It upscales through the whole range of settings to 1080p.
I got one on Thursdy 11th from Ramsgate Store. There were 6 or more left.
They are charging upto £50.00+ with postage on eBay for the same Model.
HDMI Cables on eBay for under £2.50 including postage.0 -

Don't be confused - it does have an HDMI socket. Honest.
Here's a link to the instruction manual;

The current Lidl player is the KH6520 (black) - I've had the KH6519 (silver) since the start of this year and I'm very pleased with it.

The current terms and conditions say "Any Non-Food item purchased that is found to be “unsuitable” will be refunded in full within 28 days of purchase on condition that it is returned in its original packaging with the receipt."
I bought a 22" TV a few weeks ago, it worked perfectly but not was not big enough ( not used to widescreen TV and need 28" for room size). Returned it saying it was 'unsuitable' and got a cash refund without a murmur.
As good as a returns policy as you can get which removes any fear of buying there.

Is anyone that has one of these players able to get AVI files to display in the correct order in the media browser? For some unknown reason, when I put a DVD of avi files in, all of the episodes are listed in a random order. This is driving me mad! Help!0

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it sorts them by file size and there's no way of changing that. It also does it with MP3s, so you can't play them in the correct order either! I think.
It was only £19 - I supposed you'd like the moon on a stick too for that money!
