Hi SA
I was really sorry to hear about your bracelet, with its sentimental value and of course the horrid feeling that someone has been in your room looking at your things. I wonder how many people came and if DD will be able to find it.
So this diary is living on borrowed time then! I was thinking about mine, as it will not be very much longer (I hope) till our debt is paid off. It sounds like the money being in the bank will mark the end of the chapter - but I'll miss your updates, as I'm sure others will.

Thanks Cbm and Beanielou - I think I'll be angry about it for a long time and upset of course with it being a present from OH. No point trying to replace it as it wouldn't be the same.
I'm a bit angry with credit card today as it should go to statement on the 13th of the month but is still going strong today. I rang up to complain as big shop I did on Wednesday has gone onto this month's bill when it should have been on next month's. They said the statement will be done at midnight today. Hopefully the endowment money will be in the bank by the time the bill becomes payable then I can just pay it all off with the money and be free of it at long last. I got a bit shirty with them on the phone as I think it was an overseas call centre and I couldn't tell a word the chap was saying. I told him there was no point carrying on a conversation with someone whose accent I couldn't understand and put the phone down. I makes me angry when you get someone working in a call centre who can't speak clearly. What is the point?
Anyway glad it's Friday. Done my 3 days detox again and time to retox as usual! Forgot to say I listed two CDs on Amazon and sold one the other day. It was a brand new one that I'd only played once and didn't like so it sold quickly. First time I've used Amazon, not sure if I like them as they allowed £1.24 for postage costs and it cost £1.52. Prefer ebay I think.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Amazon is quite different to eBay isn't it, much quicker and easier to list and I sold a couple of things within hours of posting - which was great - but with their fixed postage it is easy to make a loss. Ebay seems to have started doing the maximum fixed postage thing too in some categories which I hope doesn't spread.
Hope you have a good weekend retoxing

Hi everyone
Had a nice weekend and found some time to sit in the lovely sunshine. OH bought a greenhouse (not glass - perspex) from B&Q as we are growing veg and flower seeds at the moment. Every available window space in the house has a seed tray on it! We spent loads of time over the weekend putting it together. You have never seen such complicated instructions in your life. What a nightmare - but at least it's up now and OH is in his element in it.
Credit card has finally gone to statement and the full payment is due on 11 May. We should have the endowment money in our bank account by then so I'll pay it off with this and then we'll finally be straight. I'm going to keep using the card though as I get points which I can convert into Boots vouchers which I usually send for in time for Christmas. Of course in future I'll have the money tucked away in my savings account waiting for the bill to come in!
Have had a nightmare day at work today re-arranging travel for my team who were supposed to be flying in the next couple of days and getting them booked onto trains. I feel like a travel agent. Will be glad to get home today but unfortunately have a dental appointment at 6pm so will be home for a bit and then back out again.
Not lost any weight for the second week running. Not doing very well at the moment. I sat down yesterday and meal planned for the whole week ahead so providing I don't have any deviations from this I may possibly (please) lose something this week. I'm finding it so hard to lose the 3lbs I put on during my holiday. I know it gets harder as you get older; hope it's not the shape of things to come I can't be doing with middle age spread!
Still no sign of bracelet. I know I won't get it back, it's most likely been sold on by now. DD is avoiding me like the plague. She's coming straight in from work and straight to her bedroom. She knows I'm still angry and will be for some time.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Hi SA
Its a shame the bracelet didn't turn up, and sad that DD hasn't been able to retrieve. Just a thought, when someone stole a projector from our house, the police suggested looking in CashConverters. It might be a thankless task that will just make you sad, but just a thought as I know it had sentimental value. Of course you may live in/near an enormous city in which case its a bit more difficult - we're more rural but living a cycle ride from a market town!
Good luck with the weight loss, and hope the team transport problems get ironed out.

Thanks Cbm - we live in the suburbs of a small city. Bracelet could be anywhere especially now you can get these envelopes and send gold away by post - no doubt no questions asked - don't agree with this by the way it seems so dodgy to me. I think DD is embarrassed more than anything as it was one of her guests who stole it.
Went to dentist last night. Some time ago he pursuaded me to have my teeth whitened but have been putting it off for ages due to lack of funds. Finally agreed to it last night and have to wear plastic trays in my mouth with solution in for 2 hours (preferably overnight) for the next 3 weeks. He reckons I'll really notice the difference. Hope so as it cost me £150 and the solution really stings! I took out the trays when I woke up in the night and my teeth feel really sensitive today, all tingly. Dentist gave me some sensitive toothpaste to use but I am hoping once I get used to solution the tingling will wear off. I will be so glad when the three weeks is over. The things I do for vanity!! It had better work!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
You'll have to let us know how well the teeth whitening thing works for you - it could be a good use of £150. My dentist always tells me how my yellowish teeth have thick enamel and are stronger etc etc but when you see people with white teeth its just lovely. How does it work?

Hi Cbm - It's a bleach solution and dentist says although the end result won't be dazzling bright white they will be a few shades lighter. I suppose your teeth get darker as you get older and they get stained from coffee/tea/red wine etc which doesn't go away with just brushing. Tingling has stopped now but the gums around my bottom teeth feel a bit sore which I suppose has been caused by the tray. The trays are see through and very pliable and were made especially to fit me so don't know why this is happening. Will persevere. Normally the cost is £300 but my dentist is offering it half price at the moment. He is a private dentist but I'm on Denplan so only have to pay for certain things. Will let you know the end result in 3 weeks time. By the way your total is looking brilliant!!!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
