Weird about having to pay extra for the Euro's especially when pre-ordered. Usually (with The Cheque Centre), if you have to order them you get them at the price on the day you ordered, if it goes up you lose but if it goes down you don't!

Happy new mac, and have a wonderful holiday x

Just a quickie. DD is 23 going on 15 Beanielou. Swinstie when I pre ordered Euros from Thomas Cook it stated on the confirmation the price could go up or down depending on the rate on the day you picked them up from the shop. I wish I'd got them the week before when they were still high. Can't win them all!

Hi all back from holiday :(

Had a fabulous time, weather was gorgeous and have a lovely sun tan! Expensive though - €500 wasn't enough and ended up drawing out another €110! Had £100 breakage deposit from apartment owner to come back though so this covered it.

Have moved to new office at work which is very open plan so can't come on MSE as often as I used to. Sneaking on now though as most people are out at lunch.

Need to get back into the swing of things MSE and diet wise. Seemed to have spent a fortune on restocking food cupboards after week away. DD must have been feeding the entire neighbourhood!

Off to try and catch up with a few diaries. Have a great weekend!

  • Glad to hear you had a good holiday - hope you've bought some of that sunshine home with you and the weather will get better rather than the odd nice day.
Are you getting on ok in your new desk?

    Hi all

Struggling a bit to find the privacy at work to post and the time at home! I think one of the main reasons I wanted to get DF before we moved office was I knew I would be sitting in a more exposed position. Not that anyone would say anything but I'd rather people not see what I'm doing. New desk is ok but more open plan. Plus point is that I get more interraction with other people now I'm not stuck in a corner behind a load of cabinets. Also everything is new and smells nice and new.

Payday this week but won't be a good month as OH hasn't earned much, averaging a two day week at the moment plus he doesn't get paid for holidays so April will be a lean month. OH is off work today and tomorrow but back on Thursday when he then should be ok for the next month. Fingers crossed!

  • I think that lack of privacy in big open plan offices is a bit of a pain, as is the constant interruptions - sometimes in our place it feels like we've all got to discuss every issue / phone call etc that some members of staff get! Its a wonder the team gets any work done at all :o - they think I'm a bit antisocial, but then I'm only in the office one day a week max, and usually I've got meetings in the building to go to.

Hope pay day wasn't too much of a let down - hope weather improves etc for OH work.

    Hi everyone

Payday today but am waiting until next Thursday to sort my finances as OH will have a bit more to put in the pot by then. If I do them today things will be very lean so I'm giving it another week. April is a 5 week month anyway so will be caught up with myself by then. The main aim is to stay out of debt.

Really cheesed off with Aldi yesterday as I walked up there at lunchtime (a good 20 minutes walk each way) to grab a few bargains. When I got back to work I glanced at my receipt only to find I'd been charged £1.49 for a pack of peppers I never even picked up!!! Checked everything else and it was fine so where that had come from I don't know. They can't have cleared the till from the last customer. GRR! I walk all that way to save money only to have what I've saved wiped out by them charging me for something I didn't have. Will make sure to check my receipt thoroughly before leaving the store next time. Am cross with myself as well as I glanced at the receipt before I left the shop but must have overlooked it.
