Passport renewal, any ideas how long at the mo?

I'm having a bit of a panic, used check and send on 22 May and fly a week tomorrow and still no passport, it was a straightforward renewal, anyone applied recently and know how long it's taking?

My freind applied for one on Friday and they told him 3 weeks. Good luck, i think you are going to need it.

Ouch. I believe the UK offers a premium one week service, of which you should have availed.

It may be possible to contact them and ask them to expidite the processing.

Yes, I applied to renew my passport on Monday 18 May and I've still not got my passport back.

I'd applied online and had the form sent back, so all I had to do was sign, send my photos and old passport and my cheque.

Thankfully, I don't need mine in a hurry

I actually went to the London Passport Office on 21st May as i needed my passport asap and requested fast track so i got it within 1 week, however my sister applied renewel via normal post and she receieved it within 2 weeks, the max you will have to wait is 3 weeks.

Hopefully you'll have more luck than me. I did mine with check and send and still had it sent back twice because the photos were too light, even though two different members of staff at the post office said they were fine. Maybe just my milky white complexion

I then got asked in for an interview even though it wasn't my first passport, but then I did get it through the post two days later. Must look suspicious or something I'm a sure bet for a strip search at the airport next week:rotfl:

Sent off for mine a couple of weeks ago. Sent Thursday back Tuesday. (Renewal)

I sent off for renewals on 11th May for all 4 of us. The 3 adult ones were back in about 10 days. The child one took a week longer

I was in same scenario... just drove down same day too 3 hrs

less worry higher cost...

moral of story ... dont leave till last minute... lol

hello, I sent off for a first child passport with the check and send (only 6.85 more) and it came through within 12 days. I sent off for it around the 18th of May as well. Why not call them up and ask? we did and were told that it had been printed and put in the post the day before. At least if you call them you'll know what's going on.
